Dear Parents,

The following are updated to our COVID-19 protocols for summer campers in 2021.  These protocols are according to the State of MD COMAR Summer Youth Camp regulations.

Safety of our camp community is our upmost priority, and we need your help leading up to camp; by making COVID-19 safe choices (including decisions around travel and people interactions) prior to coming to camp, recording daily screenings, and encouraging proper hygiene methods before and while at camp.

 Updates as of 5/18/2019:

  • ***NEW*** – All overnight campers who are not fully vaccinated must present a negative COVID-19 test from no more than 3 days before the start of camp. Campers in day camp programs do not need to provide a negative test.
  • ***NEW*** – The CDC recommended campers should follow travel guidance restrictions in the 14 days leading up to camp.
  • ***NEW*** – The CDC recommended unvaccinated campers and staff members engage in a 2-week prearrival quarantine that includes physical distancing, mask-wearing when not at home, avoiding unnecessary travel, and refraining from indoor social gatherings with people outside of their households.
    • Camp staff and campers who are not fully vaccinated should get tested with a viral test 3–5 days after traveling home from camp AND stay home and self-quarantine for a full 7 days after travel.
    • Fully vaccinated people should follow current guidance for domestic travel and may not need to be tested or self-quarantine after camp unless they are experiencing symptoms.
    • ***Updated***The use of face masks will follow local health department guidelines and CDC recommendations for youth camps.
      • In a day camp program campers and staff must wear facemasks when indoors. When outdoors facemasks must be worn if physical distancing cannot be maintained except when wearing a face mask creates a safety hazard or is not practicable (i.e eating, swimming, etc).
      • For overnight campers face masks and distancing (inside and outside) are not required when interacting with only people in their cohort. If interacting with any one outside their cohort, masks must be worn except when wearing a face mask creates a safety hazard or is not practicable (i.e eating, sleeping, swimming, etc).
    • ***Updated*** The check in process will be done as a “drive thru.”
    • ***Updated*** Upon arrival the camper will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms.
    • ***UPDATED*** If the ill person receives a positive COVID-19 test result the cohort, and anyone determined to have been in close contact will be sent home
